Go for a Walk and Let Your Mind Wander

You have a lot to deal with or things going on today.

The best piece of advice I could come up with is to go for a walk and let your mind wander. Its not about the exercise. Moving your body is definitely part of it.

We spend so much of our time sitting and being stuck in one place.

We mentally get stuck in one place too. The state change of getting up and moving your body is magic. It is enough to help you move closer to the solution to problem or come up with some new ideas.

If you can walk outside its even better.

Its great to go be in nature for a little while. It helps put things in your life into perspective. No matter what you are dealing with nature and the world are much larger and you can feel that. Mental clarity comes from here.

Sometimes the weather sucks and I will still just walk around inside the house. It feels silly but the kids and I put our Fitbits on and try to get steps.

Sometimes its a short walk downstairs at work to get some water bottles from the other side of the building. It doesn’t have to be much, but it gets you moving and gets you thinking and that is all you need sometimes.
