Why coaching? The underrated value

Have you ever lost your keys at home, looking EVERYWHERE, and yet not finding them? Then feeling embarrassed as your partner gives you a puzzled look(not understanding why you can’t see them) “They’re right there.”🤷🏼‍♀️

Ever wondered why?

You looked everywhere, EXCEPT where it was: the blind spot. It’s not about having good sight or not. It’s about having a different perspective(which your partner had).

A tiny thought came to mind.

The world must be round and not flat, because that way we can have a 360° perspective on how we experience it.

Most of the time, I believe we can resolve our problems and achieve anything in life by gaining a different perspective.

In other words, the more pairs of glasses I carry, the better.

And sometimes, we have to be shown the perspective by others, that we may not spot otherwise. Like in the case of the lost phone.

My first coaching experience felt as if someone entered the dark cave of my mind with a torch and started to light up the blind spots one by one, carefully asking, “What about here?” “What’s going on there?”.

I was thrilled with the adventure inside myself! WOW.

The coach directed my attention toward places I hadn’t even thought of looking on my own. All the information was already there — in my mind, I just wasn’t aware of it.

Now I truly understand the saying — wisdom lives within.

The process of coaching is about understanding what you see now with your pair of glasses and what you would like to see instead with perhaps a different pair of glasses.

A great coach will offer you other pairs of glasses to try on until you find the ones with which you can see what you envisioned.

Seeing is believing. Once you can see it, you are ready to step into the transformation.
