Can Living Through a Pandemic Bring on Depression?

It’s just another day of waking up with nothing to do and nowhere to go!

After retiring from a teaching/librarian job that had me putting in at least ten hours a day, retirement was both a relief and a shock.

First, I experienced euphoria because the stress of working a job where the chores were never ending had officially ended, and then there was the shock of having nothing to do.

Gradually I began to figure out my life. First, I found one part-time job and then another. Then I discovered physical fitness classes offered by the local hospital.

I can remember back then how every day I would wake up with the hope that this pandemic would be over soon.

How unfortunate it is that I wake up and hope the very same thing a year later.

Now, as we approach the end of January 29, 2022, a new version of COVID has arrived. Once…
