Upside Down

A king in disguise,
ㅤliving,
ㅤmoving,
Among his people.

Unrecognized,
ㅤyet so recognizable.
Unknown,
ㅤbut so knowable.
Having nothing,
ㅤwhile giving everything.
So completely loving,
ㅤyet rejected.

Jesus joined us,
ㅤoffering infinite love.
Made himself fully available,
ㅤyet so few accepted him.
They chose a criminal above him.
Chose to end his life,
ㅤrather than follow his ways.

In so many ways,
ㅤlarge and small,
we do the same today.
We don’t look to him as much as we could.
Reach out to him when we should.
Accept his leading in our lives.
Allow his love to fill our hearts.

Lord, today I open my heart to you.
I give you my failures,
ㅤlaying them at the foot of the cross,
and I ask you to fill my heart with your love.
Lord, I love you.
